I’m a lifelong strategist—whether architecting enterprise cybersecurity frameworks or navigating the complexities of a chessboard. My journey began in the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up immersed in math, sci-fi, and the thrill of intellectual challenge. While others were learning multiplication, I was diving into college-level math and competing in chess tournaments, chasing the elusive path to International Master.

Professionally, I’ve built a career at the intersection of IT and cybersecurity, leading high-stakes initiatives across legal, medical, and financial sectors. From cloud architecture to risk mitigation, I specialize in designing resilient systems that protect what matters most. But my passion goes beyond code and compliance—it's about empowering others to think critically, solve creatively, and find joy in complexity.

That philosophy deepened as a parent to two brilliant, wildly different learners. My son mirrored my early path, mastering college-level math in junior high. My daughter found her spark later, ultimately earning an offer to teach graduate-level statistics as an undergrad thanks to her revolutionary approach to learning and instruction. They taught me that the key to igniting passion—whether in chess, math, or life—is to individualize the journey. I believe in meeting each learner where they are, tapping into what they love, and showing them that rigor can be joyful.
